Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Israel  

On arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, you will be met by a Vered HaSharon representative, assisted through customs, and transferred to your hotel in Tel Aviv for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Tel Aviv -Jaffa – Caesarea – Mt. Carmel – Megiddo 

  Day 2– Tel Aviv – Jaffa – Caesarea – Mt. Carmel – Megiddo  

 After breakfast, view the modern city of Tel Aviv and visit the biblical port city of Jaffa, including the house of Simon the Tanner. Travel north along the scenic coastal road to Caesarea built by Herod the Great. Continue to Mt. Carmel, where Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal (1 Kings: 18) with a breathtaking view of the north of Israel. Travel to Megiddo overlooking the fertile Jezreel Valley – the Valley of Armageddon. See the remains of King Solomon’s stable and the famous water tunnel. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

Day 3

Mt. of Beatitudes – Caesarea Philippi – Golan Heights – Capernaum –  Boat Ride –  Jordan River (Yardenit) 

After breakfast, drive to the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus preached the great Sermon on the Mount (Luke 6:20-49). On to the lush greenery at Banias – Caesarea Philippi, one of the primary sources of the Jordan River. See the beautifully scenic Golan Heights, the site of fierce battles between Israel and Syria between 1967 and 1973. Take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Visit Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry in Galilee. Finally, drive to the Yardenit Baptismal site, where the Sea of Galilee flows into the Jordan River. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

Day 4

Nazareth – Jericho – Dead Sea

After breakfast, drive to the spiritual city of Nazareth, the Galilee town of Jesus’ youth. Visit Nazareth Village – an educational project where you can relive the time of Jesus in the small village. Then, continue through the Jezreel Valley to the Jordan River, which leads south to Jericho (Joshua 6:12-25), a flourishing oasis in the Judean Desert and the first city conquered by Joshua in the Promised Land. The first stop is the ancient ruins of Qumran, the remains of a desert settlement where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Continue to the hotel on the Dead Sea and enjoy the spa facilities or spend some time relaxing and floating on the salty waters of the Dead Sea. Dinner and overnight at the Dead Sea.

Day 5

Masada – Bethlehem – Jerusalem  

After breakfast, visit exciting Masada to explore the remains of the rugged fortress built by Herod the Great and known as the site of one of the most dramatic scenes in Jewish history. Next, drive to the biblical town of Bethlehem. The city is dominated by the Church of the Nativity, built on the grotto where Jesus is believed to have been born. Visit the Shepherds Fields (Luke 2:8) Drive to Jerusalem. See the exceptional view of Jerusalem from the Haas Promenade and check into your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Old City of Jerusalem 

After breakfast – a full-day Old City walking tour. Begin with a spectacular view of Jerusalem as Jesus saw it from the crest of Mount of Olives. Next, walk down to the Garden of Gethsemane with its ancient olive trees. Enter the Old City through the Lion’s Gate and proceed along the Via Dolorosa, also called the Way of the Cross, Jesus’ route from Pilate’s judgment hall to Golgotha. Walk through vibrant bazaars. Visit the Temple Mount and the Western Wall, part of the retaining wall of the Temple Mount. Continue to the Cardo, the main street of the ancient Jewish Quarter of the Old City, which has been excavated and restored with shops and galleries that have opened along the street. Visit Mount Zion, the Upper Room of the Last Supper, and King David’s Tomb (Matthew 26:17-30; Mark 14:12-25). Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 7

Free Day 

After breakfast enjoy today to explore Jerusalem on your own, revisit sites in more depth, shop or relax at the hotel. Dinner and overnight Jerusalem.

Day 8

New City of Jerusalem 

After breakfast – full day sightseeing: Mt Scopus, the Knesset – Israel’s parliament, Israel Museum, Yad Vashem, the national holocaust memorial, and research center. Visit the Model of Jerusalem as it was in Jesus’ day at the Israel Museum and the Shrine of the book where the Dead Sea scrolls are kept. Finally, visit the Garden Tomb (John 19:40-42) with an optional communion service. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 9

Departure

Transfer to Ben Gurion International Airport for the return flight.
